Barcelona Beaches
Barceloneta
On the coast of the famous district, Barceloneta is the city's most famous and popular urban beach, which is why it is always very crowded. It is the perfect place to eat fresh fish, sample different chiringuitos and have a drink. The beach is free but you can find deckchairs and sunbeds for a fee. The beach is easily reached with the yellow L4 metro line.
Nova Icaria
Nova Icaria beach is considered the quietest beach in Barcelona, a perfect choice for families or those who wish to relax, but that's not all, you will find a wide range of excellent restaurants and bars.
Ocata
North of Barcelona, a half-hour train ride from the city, Ocata beach is the perfect place for those seeking peace and tranquillity. The pristine beach is characterised by golden white sand, a wonder to behold for those who hate crowded places.
Badalona
The beach of Badalona is located 10 km north of Barcelona. The town is small and has a wide beach. Badalona's promenade is about 5 km long and runs alongside the palm trees of the city's rambla.
Garraf
If you are looking for a quiet beach, we recommend Garraf: a small cove overlooked by a few wooden houses. To get there, get off the train at the previous stop in Sitges (from Barcelona in the direction of Tarragona).
Sitges
A little further south than Garraf, you reach the beaches of Sitges , which can be reached by train in less than half an hour. Sitges has a large beach right next to the village. If you want some peace and quiet, head to Home mort, a wonderful wild cove.
Beaches of Calella
In the heart of the Maresme coast, between Baladona and the Costa Brava, Calella is the perfect location for those looking for dream beaches. The town is located about 50 km from Barcelona and is easily accessible by train and bus.
Get to the most beautiful beach, Platja de les Roques, characterised by small coves surrounded by rocks and vegetation.
Lloret de Mar
It is undoubtedly the queen of the Costa Brava and is the perfect destination for those who love discos, clubs and fun. If you are looking for more secluded spots, we recommend the beach at Platja de Fenals.
Calella de Pantafrugell
This is one of the best places to enjoy the sea on the Costa Brava. The area is uncrowded and has a number of secluded coves and beaches. Playa del Port Bo is the beach located right in the centre of the fishing village.
Cala Estreta
Palamos is home to the most beautiful beach on the Costa Brava: Cala Estreta, which can be reached by a long walk from the castle beach. The effort will be repaid by the wonder.
Tossa de Mar
This is one of the most beautiful seaside villages on the Costa Brava. From the walls of the medieval fortress facing the sea starts the town beach, unfortunately crowded in summer. If you prefer a bit of tranquillity, choose Cala Pola.
Torredembarra
Torredembarra, on the Costa Dourada is located south of Barcelona, before Tarragona. Torredembarra is famous for 'Els Muntanyans', 35 hectares of dunes and saltwater marshes. The beach stretches for 4 kilometres and is a natural paradise that should definitely be visited.
